Description
Café Modern is located in a beautiful old building in Amsterdam-North since 2012. On the ground floor is the restaurant and the floor above is their boutique hotel with 3 rooms. The restaurant serves a varying five-course chef's menu. The menu on RestauPlant is an example menu. This menu can be adapted to allergies and dietary requirements. It is therefore also possible to adjust the menu to a vegan or vegetarian menu. Please let them know your dietary requirements when booking.

The food is fine, but with the vegan menu you just have the feeling that you are getting a weak copy of the 'real' menu. For this money you can eat out much, much better.
Beautifully served, good wines, great service. The dish in which a herring is imitated with eggplant is also really worth it.

Café Modern is a beautiful restaurant where you can choose from a 5 to 7 course menu. We opted for a vegan menu with a nice bottle of white wine. Unfortunately, I found the food a bit disappointing. It is always a gamble to choose a vegan menu in a non-vegetarian restaurant, but unfortunately I didn't think this was good enough. The dishes felt very much like stripped down vegetarian dishes. I missed the taste and it seemed like the tasty sauces had been left out for most of the dishes. We paid 68 euros for these 6 courses and unfortunately I didn't think it was worth the price/quality. The bottle of wine was very good and the service was friendly.

We went for a 5 course lunch. Super tasty food! I had a vegan menu, everything was delicious, only 1 dish seemed as if they had left out the animal products without anything else. But that didn't spoil the fun :). The service was very friendly and the building is super cool! Wonderful place to treat yourself to an extensive lunch or dinner.

4 course vegetarian menu. My girlfriend had vegan. Very tasty food. Good wines to go with it. 100% recommended for vegetarians or vegans! Oh yes: super nice building and not to mention the surprise next to the toilet;)
