Warung Senang is a small eatery in the historic center of Middelburg. Here you can smell and taste the varied dishes from the "Gordel van Smaragd". There are several vegan options and a few meat dishes. The owner cooks and serves himself and gets his inspiration from all parts of Indonesia. That is why there is no fixed menu, but the dishes are prepared with what is available that week. This way he can express his passion and love, and you will see and taste unknown gems. A meal consists of rice with four dishes, also called Nasi Rames. A rice table that is given is wrapped in paper, as is customary in Indonesia. Eating inside is also possible at a long table, where eight people can sit. There is also a table with two chairs outside, for when the sun shines.
My grandchildren picked up 5 portions and paid €72.50 for a product that does not deserve the name Indian meal. An outrageous amount of money for 5 paper bags of white rice with some addition in the form of tofu, broken beans and some other indefinable stuff. They were also treated very unkindly. We, living in Mideelburg, will never do this again and will spread the word about this.
