Fort Nieuwersluis is hidden among the greenery of the Vecht region: a place where you feel time slow down for a moment. Once, at the end of the 19th century, this fort was an indispensable link in the Dutch Waterline and watched over the route between Utrecht and Amsterdam. Water, landscape and architecture together formed an ingenious defense system. Now Fort Nieuwersluis has been transformed into a serene and inspiring environment. The sturdy brick walls, overgrown roofs and intimate interior spaces still tell their story, but above all invite you to experience.
