Description
The Land is an agricultural and social project on a farm in Zuidoostbeemster, where Jessie and Elise grow vegetables according to agro-ecological principles. They translate what grows on their 1400m2 piece of land into a three-course vegetarian dinner in Amsterdam North every Thursday and Friday. The menu changes weekly and is entirely based on the harvest at that time, supplemented with products from neighboring farms in the winter months. Think of a fresh starter, a hearty main course and a homemade dessert, for €25 per person. When it's gone, it's gone, but if you're still hungry you can always ask for a second portion. The Land Canteen operates by reservation only (no walk-ins) and bookings open every Saturday prior to the canteen week. More than a dinner, it is a place to connect people, food and agriculture, with friends, neighbors, strangers or loved ones at the table. Some weeks vegan and gluten-free food is possible, other weeks unfortunately not. Every week there is a different menu that they serve.
