Madre is not an ordinary Mexican restaurant. It is a restaurant out of love, love for good food, love for a better world world, tasty cocktails and good conversations. Madre opened its doors in November 2021. Madre presents itself as a modern Mexican restaurant eager to be a part of a better world and positive change. Not once is the word 'vegan' mentioned on the website or menu, but they definitely are! We love it!

Delicious food. Booked via RestauPlant so that was nice and easy. My friend and I had the chef's menu so we were surprised with the dishes. The birria and artichoke tacos were really the highlight. And ofcourse delicious cocktails 😍. I thought the drinks were a bit pricey.

Madre is somewhere that really takes the Amsterdam vegan scene to the next level. They have delicious cocktails and a menu where nothing disappoints. Some highlights for me were the peanut and mushroom tostadas which were so rich and creamy, the birria queso tacos which were made with 3D printed meat and tasted soo realistic, and the desserts (the tres leches broiche from Saint Jean is just wow). Madre is somewhere I would happily go back to and recommend to anyone!

It's quite expensive
We went to dinner at Madre on the recommendation of RestauPlant. The first time we could enjoy vegan Mexican food out. Absolutely delicous! We will be back!
Cozy ambiance and very nice staff. The food was very tasty (nacho mama and fajitas).
Relatively high prices, especially for red wine.

This week we had a delicious meal at Madre. We were there a year ago, but I think the dishes are even better now than back then. Madre makes exciting combinations that are surprisingly tasty. I also really like the vibes of this place. Sustainable, vegan and mega hip! A combination that you don't see very often in Amsterdam. I like it a lot. I'll definitely be back.
I thought the Madre Summer Garden was a very nice and tasty dish. Everything was tasty, but this one stood out for me. I always take the cauliflower wings anyway, a nice dish to share.
